Well its the week we should have been on vacation. It wasn’t a very long vacation or very far away. It was simply our annual trip to the Great Homeschool Convention in Cincinnati which of course was canceled. We are sad that we aren’t able to gather with other homeschool families. But we’re more sad so for the loss of fun family memories we would make. I know we are not the only ones who have missed vacations planned during this lockdown period. Many Americans take vacations during spring break and would have taken trips in the months of March and April.
As I look towards summer, I have doubts that life will have returned to normal by then. Lots of plans will be canceled or severely changed. This year will look like no other any of us have ever lived. Maybe, just maybe, by fall we’ll see some things starting to return to normal. But the travel and tourism industry will have greatly suffered in the meantime, and it remains to be seen if they all will recover. Families will have lost a summer’s worth of memories of great outings and missed vacations with their children.
Niagara Falls
So I thought today I would bring you the sights of one of our favorite vacations, Niagara Falls. This vacation was a trip for our 20th anniversary. We spent a couple of days at the falls, primarily on the Canadian side, before traveling up to Toronto for the rest of our vacation. Of course we did a bunch of the tourist attractions, but my favorite was simply the view from our hotel…especially at night when they lit up the falls.
So take a moment to let these pictures take you away from your home and isolation and take a mental vacation to Niagara Falls. Let your mind transport you to a place where you can observe such natural beauty as Niagara Falls.
