My family is going to start a monthly family challenge and I thought I would share it with you all as well. With everything that has been happening in the world the last 5 months or so, we have all had a lot more time at home. This has led to more family time together! As businesses reopen and people start going back to their normal schedules, I didn’t want to lose that closeness that grows when we are all home together having practically unlimited amounts of family time. Sometimes too much, huh? 😆
Well I wanted to keep capturing the positive side effects of quarantine, by putting together a monthly family challenge. You already know that I like to live intentionally. I may not always live up to that expectation that I have in my mind, but things like family meetings and yearly planning help me reach the goals I set for myself and the ones we set as a family. So I thought, why not give ourselves a monthly family challenge to make sure we don’t fall back into bad habits? Be intentional.
So for my first family challenge, I made up this list of activities. There are no dates attached to the activities. There’s also not a lot of them, it’s simply a set of 4 activities to do as a family. Try to complete them all by the end of the month! I’ll be putting out a new family challenge at the end of each month for the following month, so I hope you challenge your own family and play along! Monthly Family Challenge June 2020:

- Make a meal as a family. It doesn’t matter how simple or how elaborate the meal, but make it together.
- Have a board game or movie day. Sometimes we combine both!
- Tackle a task together. This can be something like clearing brush or cleaning up the garage or cleaning closets. If you have a task that you can do as a family, tackle it this next month!
- Do an outdoor activity. This can be playing an outdoor game, having a bonfire and roasting hotdogs and making smores or playing in a sprinkler or pool. Have some outdoor summer fun!
So that’s my monthly family challenge June 2020! Enjoy your family and the sunshine and make some memories!
