Happy Easter, everyone! He is risen! I pray that everyone is having a great Easter celebration with their family. This year was unique in that Easter landed on April 1st, i.e. April Fool’s Day, and I could not let this opportunity go to waste. Creative Kid loves pranks and joking around in general so I wanted to prank him in some way. I saw lots of other parents talking online about what they were planning to do with their children, but ultimately I came up with my own idea. I decided to give him an Easter basket full of carrots. First, wouldn’t the Easter bunny want carrots? But the main reason I wanted to do it is because Creative Kid HATES carrots. I have tried getting him to eat them in several ways, but each time it’s an epic fail.
So Creative Kid came out to a basket full of carrots and he just looked at it. I honestly thought he would through a fit or have some sort of dramatic reaction, but amazingly he was low key. Until I asked him if he knew what today was and he realized I pulled an Aprill Fool’s Day prank on him.
We then gave him his real basket before getting ready for church. We have not started the search for a new church and we wanted to spend the afternoon with family, so we went back to our old church in Lancaster and then met my dad, brother and their wives at Olive Garden for some family time together. It was nice in all the craziness we have going on to do something like a normal family and spend some time with the extended family.
